Why Supportive Cancer Care Matters
What is supportive cancer care?
Supportive cancer care is a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to care for people affected by cancer that improves people’s lives. We believe in care that ensures people’s needs are met throughout the cancer continuum of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship—including needs related to physical, and emotional health, as well as addressing economic barriers to accessing care.

The Impact of Supportive Cancer Care
Together for Supportive Cancer Care has conducted national research to explore the barriers for broader access to supportive cancer care. We found that amongst providers, people with cancer, and their caregivers, there is a consensus that supportive cancer care is important to health outcomes.
Additionally, a majority of respondents support making supportive cancer care the national standard, agreeing that cancer outcomes cannot improve unless all people with cancer have equitable access to supportive cancer care.
